About Joshua Harrison
Dr. Joshua C. Harrison is a registered patent attorney specializing in patent prosecution, pre-litigation counseling, right-to-use investigations, infringement and validity investigations and opinions, and patent litigation support, with experience in electromechanical and biomedical device technologies (see www.patentlaw.us). Joshua often deposes or defends technical expert witnesses, and sometimes serves as one. Joshua is admitted to practice before the Federal and California State Courts, and before the United States Patent & Trademark Office. Joshua earned his JD degree at Stanford Univ. Law School in 2002, and B.Sc., M.Sc. and Ph.D. degrees in mechanical engineering at the Univ. of California, San Diego, and the Univ. of Southern California. Joshua has engineering industry experience working for IBM Corp., Applied Magnetics Corp., and Seagate Technology. He has also served as a faculty member of the Dept. of Engineering at the University of Queensland in Brisbane, Australia. Joshua served for 23 years as a member of the U.S. military reserve forces, initially serving as an enlisted member of the U.S. Marine Corps light infantry, and separating service as a Major in the U.S. Army Reserve (last attached to the Joint Intelligence Center, Pacific). Besides having helped many clients obtain, enforce, or avoid scores of patents as a lawyer, Joshua has been awarded ten U.S. Patents himself and has authored 21 engineering journal publications as an engineer and inventor.
