About Thomas John

I am an intellectual property lawyer and a registered U.S. patent attorney. I was born and raised in Singapore and am culturally agile, having worked and studied in Singapore, the United States, and Germany. I now call Dallas, Texas home. I entered the patent profession in 2011 and focus my practice on patent preparation, prosecution, global portfolio management, and strategic client counseling. I am particularly adept at aggressively growing robust patent portfolios for emerging- and high-tech startups and corporations. I am technically nimble and have prepared and prosecuted patents in a variety of technical fields, including: - semiconductor process technology - machine learning and artificial intelligence - blockchain technology - wireless communications technologies - medical imaging (MRI, fMRI, CT) - statistical, analog, digital, and mixed signal processing - digital and analog circuits and devices I earned my J.D. from Southern Methodist University's Dedman School of Law, my Ph.D. in Electrical Engineering from Stanford University, and my M.Eng and B.Eng degrees, both in Electrical Engineering, from the National University of Singapore. I am admitted to practice in the State of Texas and before the United States Patent and Trademark Office.
